Automatic stock price updates from 70+ global exchanges. Daily EOD prices with 12-month historical backfill for accurate portfolio valuations.
Understanding Stock Data
Caprafi automatically fetches and maintains stock prices for your public equity holdings, keeping your portfolio valuations current without manual updates.
Automatic Price Updates
How It Works
When you add a public stock asset with a ticker symbol and exchange, Caprafi automatically:
- Identifies the Security - Matches your ticker to market data feeds
- Fetches Current Prices - Retrieves the latest closing price
- Updates Your Valuation - Calculates your position value (shares × price)
- Stores History - Maintains price history for performance tracking
Update Frequency
Stock prices are updated once daily after market close. The update captures the official closing price from the relevant exchange.
| Region | Typical Update Time |
|---|---|
| US Markets | After 4:00 PM EST close |
| European Markets | After local market close |
| Asian Markets | After local market close |
Historical Data
When you first add a stock, we backfill 12 months of historical price data. This enables:
- Immediate performance charts
- Accurate historical portfolio values
- Return calculations from day one

Calculation
Your stock position value is calculated as:

- Price is fetched in the trading currency
- Position value converts to your base currency
- Both values are stored for transparency

| Shares | 50 |
| Price | $195.00 USD |
